Angie Talle is a Minneapolis-based mixed media artist whose work includes large-scale mosaic art murals and collaborations that seek to engage the community. Her latest project has taken a turn into the music world as she releases her debut album, “She Needs a Reason to Be Free,” available from House of Mercy Recordings.

The songs tell the story of “Angelou,” a character Angie created to be the star of a country musical set in the late 1960’s. Her band, Ang and the Ranch Hands, recorded the album with Joe Mabbott at the legendary Hide-away Studios in Minneapolis. A soulful duet with Page Burkum of The Cactus Blossoms is one of the album’s many surprise features. Along with song and dance, the stage show includes fabulous costumes and glittering mosaic set pieces.

Angie grew up singing in churches; as a pastor’s daughter, her gigs were funerals, weddings and nursing homes. In her late 20’s, Angie had the opportunity to sing in church again, this time as part of the House of Mercy Band — a country gospel group that performed each Sunday at the House of Mercy in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Singing the duets of Emmylou Harris and Gram Parsons and June Carter and Johnny Cash inspired Angie to dream of the day when she could make the record that has become “She Needs a Reason to Be Free.”

TICKETS & LOGISTICS: There are no tickets. For all shows we request a $10 donation/adult, with 100% of the proceeds going to the artist. Seating is first come first served, with gate open at 6:30. We ask that you bring your own chair/blanket, and anything that you like to eat or drink. (Adult beverages allowed.) We provide an onsite bathroom in our house. NO ANIMALS ALLOWED.
